Job summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position, with some overtime possible depending on operational needs. The work is performed primarily in a repair shop environment, with occasional field service calls to remote worksites.
Key responsibilities:
- Preventative maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on diesel engines and equipment, including fluid changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and comprehensive inspections.
- Diagnostics and repair: Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using computerized diagnostic tools and testing equipment. Repair or replace malfunctioning components, such as engines, transmissions, brake systems, a/c and electrical systems.
- Equipment operation: Operate a variety of shop equipment, including hydraulic lifts, pneumatic tools, and welding equipment.
- Collaboration and communication: Communicate clearly with supervisors and, when necessary, with vehicle operators or clients.
Skills and qualifications:
- Three plus years of mechanical experience, salary will depend on applicant’s verifiable experience.
- Proven experience as a diesel technician or mechanic.
- Proficiency in using mechanical and computerized diagnostic equipment and software.
- Valid driver's license: a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred.
- ASE certifications are a plus.
